Twelve Labs is seeking a Staff Technical Marketing Writer to create compelling content that makes their video AI technology (Marengo and Pegasus) accessible to diverse audiences—developers, creators, AI-native builders, and marketers. This is not a documentation role; instead, you'll translate complex technical concepts like multimodal video embeddings and video-to-text reasoning into engaging, audience-appropriate content. You'll write blog posts, tutorials, guides, video outlines, and educational resources that help users understand and adopt Twelve Labs' products. You'll own SEO and on-page optimization for your content, working with external SEO and web development support to ensure discoverability. Your work will span multiple formats: long-form guides for developers, plain-language explainers for non-technical users, technical articles for external publications, and supporting copy for email and social channels. You'll partner closely with product, engineering, and partner marketing teams to stay current on product capabilities and roadmap, including how Twelve Labs' models integrate with tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and MCP servers. You'll also monitor the competitive landscape and broader video AI space to inform how Twelve Labs positions its technology. The role requires up to 10% travel annually for conferences, off-sites, and business events. You may also participate in on-site interviews and in-person onboarding processes. QUALIFICATIONS: - Proven experience writing technical or product content for mixed audiences, including both developers and non-technical end users - Portfolio demonstrating ability to simplify complex technical concepts without oversimplifying, with flexibility to adjust tone and register for different audiences - Technical fluency sufficient to read documentation, follow code samples, and participate in engineering discussions - Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and how content intersects with search - Strong structural instincts for building guides and tutorials that are actually followable - Comfort working across multiple formats (long-form guides, forum posts, social captions) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Familiarity with video, multimodal AI, or computer vision concepts - Experience writing about or using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or MCP servers, especially for non-technical audiences - Experience writing for developer communities (forums, Dev.to, Hacker News, Reddit) - Basic comfort with Git, APIs, or SDKs, with hands-on testing experience
