IonQ is seeking a Staff System Architect to lead the technical architecture and roadmap for their next-generation rack-mountable SNSPD (Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detector) platform. This is a critical role dedicated to the SNSPD product line, focusing on defining and guiding the technical evolution of cutting-edge cryogenic photon detection systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring architectural coherence across hardware, software, and integration domains while supporting the product vision and market requirements. As a Staff-level individual contributor, you will guide the technical direction of the platform, mentor engineering teams, and drive innovation in quantum sensing infrastructure.
The role involves working with advanced quantum technologies and photon detection systems, collaborating across hardware and software engineering disciplines. You'll shape the technical strategy for next-generation systems that support IonQ's quantum computing and sensing platforms used by customers including AWS and AstraZeneca.
