The platform evolved from a DME ePrescribing tool into the order management platform of choice for home medical equipment.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will drive technical strategy and architecture decisions across the platform. You'll develop in an agile environment using test-driven development and flexible pair programming, contributing to balanced teams alongside product and design. Key responsibilities include directing technical decisions related to application and data model design, maintaining stable and performant application stacks, and consistently delivering quality code that supports business goals.
You will lead teams in making technical decisions, mentor engineers, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely resolution of critical system issues. You'll leverage cutting-edge AI developer tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and automate routine tasks. This role requires deep expertise in software engineering fundamentals including data structures, design patterns, and principles.
The ideal candidate has minimum 7 years of production experience with Ruby on Rails or other open-source languages (Python, Golang, JavaScript), with demonstrated staff-level engineering experience including technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring. AWS familiarity (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS) and healthcare technology exposure (FHIR, HL7) are valued but not required.
