Nozomi Networks is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its engineering organization and shape the architecture, scalability, and long-term evolution of its AI-powered OT/IoT cybersecurity platform. The company defends critical infrastructure across energy, manufacturing, transportation, and resources in over 68 countries.
In this role, you will operate at both technical leadership and hands-on engineering levels, driving complex initiatives across teams while setting high standards for engineering excellence. You will own critical system areas, influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver impactful features and platform improvements at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and evolution of distributed systems powering the OT/IoT cybersecurity platform
- Drive architecture decisions with focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Own cross-team initiatives, aligning engineering efforts with product and business priorities
- Systematically reduce technical debt and improve system reliability and developer productivity
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar on design, code quality, and operational excellence
- Define and champion best practices in software design, testing, and observability
- Collaborate with Product, SRE, and Security teams on end-to-end solutions
- Influence engineering processes in a fast-paced agile environment
- Take ownership of mission-critical features from concept through production
Required qualifications:
- Extensive experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems in production
- Strong expertise in Golang, C++, or Ruby
- Proven track record of technical leadership beyond team boundaries
- Deep understanding of system design, algorithms, and data structures
- Experience with modern backend architectures, APIs, and service-oriented systems
- Solid background in automated testing strategies (TDD, BDD, integration testing)
- Experience in Agile environments with cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to operate in high-trust, high-confidentiality environments
Desirable skills include JavaScript/TypeScript and React, PostgreSQL and data modeling expertise, and strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP).
