Salary: USD 200,000 - 275,000 / annual

You will join the new AI team as a Staff Software Engineer, responsible for delivering differentiated AI-powered value to customers. Your scope includes designing and shipping powerful, intuitive user experiences powered by generative AI—from natural language command interfaces to AI agents handling complex tasks. You'll tackle large-scale technical challenges: scaling the platform to handle terabytes of data from diverse sources, enabling real-time querying and notifications, and optimizing search algorithms for fast results.
The engineering team values empathy, ownership, and collaboration. You'll take full responsibility for major features, work closely with other engineers, and collaborate directly with deployment teams and end users to iterate on solutions. The team prioritizes understanding real-world use cases and building solutions that genuinely solve customer problems.
Tech stack: Python, Django, Celery, Airflow, Kafka (backend); React, Redux, Mapbox (frontend); PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch (data); Bedrock, SageMaker (ML); AWS, Pulumi, Terraform, Kubernetes (infrastructure).
You should have 8+ years of cross-functional software development experience, deep expertise in architecting and scaling distributed systems, and a track record of shipping production-grade software. Experience with generative AI and LLMs applied to user experience is highly valued. You must be located in San Francisco and open to in-office work.
