Join Auth0's AI DevEx team at Okta as a Staff Software Engineer to build the next generation of authentication infrastructure for the GenAI era. This role is central to extending Auth0's Auth for GenAI offering by designing and building developer tooling, frameworks, and experiences that empower both human developers and AI agents to build secure, intelligent applications.
You will design and build developer tooling for securing infrastructure like MCP servers, create demo applications showcasing secure, identity-powered AI use cases, and contribute to open source projects within Auth0 and the broader AI + identity ecosystem. Your responsibilities include writing and maintaining high-quality documentation (API references, quickstarts, best practices, llm.txt), driving integration with emerging AI frameworks through adapters and utilities for agent runtimes, and collaborating with design, product, and security teams to align on developer needs and roadmap direction.
As a Staff-level engineer, you will mentor and support other engineers, set strong examples in code quality and testing practices, influence engineering standards through design discussions, and contribute to team-wide architectural decisions. You'll ensure resilience and security of systems involved in agent-to-agent and model-to-service communication.

Required: 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record building tools, frameworks, or platforms for developers. Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang, and/or Python with ability to move fluidly between front-end and back-end. Experience with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, orchestration layers, or prompt pipelines. Familiarity with authentication and authorization systems (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT). Demonstrated experience leading architecture and design efforts for scalable, production-grade systems. Comfort contributing to and maintaining open source projects. Passion for documentation as part of developer experience. Ability to thrive in collaborative environments with cross-functional stakeholders.
