Swile is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to lead the design and implementation of security platforms across the organization. This is a highly technical, hands-on role requiring deep expertise in security architecture and cryptography. You will operate across two strategic horizons: 1. Strengthen Security Today: Work closely with Engineering teams to continuously harden applications, access controls, and data-protection mechanisms against evolving threats. This involves identifying vulnerabilities, implementing defensive measures, and maintaining robust security posture across systems. 2. Build Privacy Architecture Tomorrow: Move beyond traditional perimeter and access-control security by designing systems where sensitive data is cryptographically isolated, minimally exposed, and increasingly usable without being directly revealed. This forward-looking work focuses on architectural innovations that fundamentally reduce the value of stolen data. The core philosophy is not simply making Swile harder to breach, but making a breach increasingly uninteresting by ensuring there is less usable data available to steal. You will design next-generation security architecture that embeds privacy and data protection at the system level. As a Staff-level engineer, you will mentor other security and engineering team members, influence technical direction, and drive cross-functional initiatives. You will need strong communication skills to translate complex security concepts for product and business stakeholders while maintaining technical rigor.
