Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms with over 10 million users, is seeking a React Native Software Engineer II to join a cross-functional Consumer pod. You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript, owning end-to-end delivery of assigned features from technical design through release and post-launch iteration.
Key responsibilities include building screens and components that are maintainable, performant, and resilient while applying established architecture and design patterns. You'll write clean, well-tested code and actively participate in code reviews, ensuring consistency with team engineering standards. You'll contribute to technical design discussions within your pod, raising clear proposals and trade-offs for your work.
Collaboration is central to this role—you'll work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Rust backend engineers to deliver features with measurable customer value. You'll also help improve code quality, shared components, and tooling across the Krak mobile codebase while staying current with the React Native ecosystem.
Required qualifications: 3+ years of software development experience with focus on web or mobile applications; solid working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and hands-on React Native experience; experience integrating and consuming APIs with attention to security and performance on mobile; familiarity with frontend testing frameworks and modern build pipelines; strong understanding of UI/UX best practices and passion for building intuitive, performant consumer experiences; strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice-to-have skills include native mobile development (iOS/Android), micro-interactions and animations in React Native, Next.js and WebSockets experience, background in large tech organizations or fast-growing startups, consumer payments/crypto/fintech mobile experience, Rust or similar language knowledge, and open-source contributions.
