Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Staff HITL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) Engineer and Lab Manager for its Connected Warfare division. This role combines hands-on technical execution with leadership responsibilities, focusing on developmental and operational testing of Anduril's software-enabled systems, particularly Lattice OS and the Army's Next Generation Command and Control capabilities.
You will lead automated software testing campaigns for Connected Warfare systems within an accelerated development cycle, planning and executing comprehensive testing strategies aligned with operational requirements and realistic scenarios. Key responsibilities include architecting and physically building HITL environments, training end users (Army Soldiers), managing test data collection and analysis, and overseeing the day-to-day operation of test environments.
The role requires balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical work: you'll write test scripts, automate procedures, and manage less experienced test engineers simultaneously. You'll collaborate closely with program management, engineering leads, and cross-functional teams to develop requirements, communicate schedules and progress, establish test gates and milestones, and analyze results. Additional duties include conducting initial issue investigation, automating process improvements, tracking performance trends, and recommending enhancements or corrective actions.
The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril supports the full spectrum of products and business lines, conducting system-level development testing, production acceptance testing, and sub-component qualification testing. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your work directly impacts military capabilities fielded to the U.S. Army and allied forces.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience); 8+ years executing C2 software and hardware systems testing in laboratory and operational environments; experience with RF communications, tactical datalinks, tactical radios, network capture/analysis, and operational data frameworks; expertise in requirements-based verification, CI/CD pipelines, Linux systems, and command-line tools; experience integrating and testing across various datalink architectures, networks, user interfaces, and hardware platforms.
