Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance and Flight Engineering teams. This role focuses on developing operationally relevant multi-asset autonomy systems, leveraging Anduril platforms like Ghost and Altius while integrating third-party platforms into the Lattice ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and testing GNC algorithms for autonomous air vehicle platforms; designing and assessing GNC architectures considering vehicles, sensors, actuators, and control algorithms; and participating in all phases of system development from concept through operation. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including systems engineers, flight software engineers, mission autonomy engineers, and test engineers to ensure system-wide integration and performance.
Additional duties involve contributing to design reviews and safety assessments, using simulation and analysis tools (MATLAB, Simulink) to verify GNC models under various operating conditions, providing system engineering expertise, troubleshooting GNC issues during design and testing phases, and staying current with emerging GNC technologies and trends.
Required qualifications include a BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering with a dynamics and control focus; 12+ years of GNC engineering or related technical experience; strong theoretical knowledge of classical and modern control theory, estimation, and filtering techniques; exceptional understanding of VTOL and CTOL flight dynamics; proven experience developing GNC solutions for flight systems; experience with linear analysis tools for dynamic systems; proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, and related GNC simulation tools; familiarity with 6-DOF simulations; and ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; practical experience developing GNC designs for flight systems; and extensive experience in GNC system and architecture development and testing, preferably in aerospace.
