ClickUp is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to lead the design and development of major frontend systems and product initiatives. You'll work across teams to solve complex technical challenges, improve engineering velocity, and shape the direction of frontend architecture.
In this role, you will lead development of complex product features and frontend systems using Angular and React. You'll partner with backend, integrations, product, design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality user experiences at speed. A key responsibility is architecting scalable, reusable frontend patterns that improve product quality and developer velocity across the organization.
You'll identify and address performance bottlenecks, UI architecture issues, and scalability risks. You'll drive engineering best practices across testing, observability, code quality, and maintainability. This includes helping teams make strong technical decisions under tight timelines and evolving priorities, owning delivery across large initiatives while balancing immediate product needs with long-term technical health.
Mentorship is a core part of this role—you'll mentor engineers and elevate frontend craftsmanship across the team, contributing to improved collaboration across domains.
Required qualifications include 7+ years of frontend engineering experience with deep expertise in Angular and React. You need strong command of TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx, and modern frontend architecture patterns. Experience building reusable component systems and scalable frontend application structures is essential. You should have deep knowledge of performance optimization, debugging, and building for large-scale web applications, plus strong product sense and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Demonstrated success leading major technical initiatives and influencing across teams is required, along with strong mentorship skills and a track record of leveling up other engineers. You'll need excellent communication and execution skills, especially in high-urgency environments, and strong experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using Jest, Vitest, Playwright, or related frameworks, with the ability to develop testing strategies.
