Matillion is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to lead complex, high-impact customer implementations of Maia, its AI Data Automation platform. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on architecting and building production-grade solutions for enterprise customers like Cisco, DocuSign, and Slack.
You will own end-to-end customer engagements, working primarily remotely with distributed teams across the UK, US, and India, with on-site presence when critical for delivery. Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and implementing production-grade data solutions tailored to complex customer requirements
- Modifying Matillion's product code where the platform needs enhancement to meet customer needs
- Acting as a technical escalation point and force multiplier across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams
- Driving technical wins, customer adoption, and account expansion through hands-on engineering excellence
- Shipping solutions quickly while maintaining high engineering standards under delivery pressure
- Transforming project work into reusable assets and actionable product feedback
- Mentoring junior Forward Deployed Engineers and building organizational capability
This role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity, can operate independently across multiple stakeholder groups, and maintains exceptional technical standards while moving fast. You'll be a key operator on Matillion's most significant and complex rollouts, combining deep technical expertise with customer empathy and business acumen.
