Lunar Energy is seeking a Staff Firmware Engineer to lead the full product development lifecycle of firmware and software for home energy products. This is a hands-on role where you'll own designs from concept through high-volume production, working across the complete stack of embedded systems that power clean energy solutions.
Key responsibilities include developing wireless network communication solutions for 24/7 reliability in high-volume products, designing firmware for home energy components including RF communication protocols, mobile app interfaces, system diagnostics and updates, and driving architectural design discussions to achieve desired product functionality. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on code reviews and product refinement, working with other disciplines to ensure products create maximum impact, reach market quickly, and operate reliably for customers.
Required qualifications: 5+ years delivering firmware for new products in a team environment, degree in computer engineering or related field (or demonstrated equivalent ability), proficiency in C with working familiarity in Python (Rust a plus), experience with IP stack protocols (Ethernet, WiFi, TCP, UDP, HTTPS), working knowledge of Bluetooth/BLE, experience with WiFi networks and Espressif ecosystem, and familiarity with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
