LaunchDarkly is seeking a Staff Enterprise Developer Advocate to build and lead a new education-first technical engagement program inside enterprise accounts. This is a ground-up motion design role where you'll own the entire program lifecycle: designing session formats, selecting target accounts, building internal champions alongside account teams, and measuring impact.
You'll deliver technical sessions on LaunchDarkly's core capabilities—feature management, safe rollouts, experimentation, and runtime control—tailored to each account's engineering stack and use cases. The sessions are education-focused, not sales pitches, and designed to reach teams within large customers who may not yet know LaunchDarkly (AI teams, experimentation groups, release management teams).
Key responsibilities include: designing the pilot program structure and measurement framework; running hands-on technical sessions for enterprise engineering audiences (50+ engineers, principal architects); partnering with account executives, solutions engineers, and customer success to identify opportunities and develop champions; maintaining the credibility and non-promotional nature of the program; instrumenting results and making scale/adjust/stop recommendations based on data; and defining the playbook for future advocates as the motion scales.
You'll need deep technical credibility—you build, demo, and teach, and senior engineers respect your expertise. You're comfortable in enterprise rooms, handling tough technical questions from skeptical architects. You have strong operational instincts to run repeatable programs, prioritize demand, and deliver on commitments to the field. Background should span at least two of: developer advocacy, solutions engineering, developer education, or technical marketing, with a minimum of 12 years of related experience. Travel approximately 25% of the time. Bonus experience includes feature management/experimentation/observability tooling, building customer-facing technical programs from scratch, or deep enterprise software background.
