Shield AI is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives across the autonomous aircraft product lifecycle. You will develop and maintain robust quality systems aligned with AS9100 standards, conduct root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams, you'll identify risks, improve process capability, and ensure consistent product quality throughout design, new product introduction (NPI), and full-rate production phases.
Key responsibilities include establishing control plans and inspection strategies, using data-driven methods to monitor manufacturing performance, and supporting new product introduction efforts. You will shape quality strategy, mentor team members, and influence cross-functional decisions across the organization without direct management authority. This role offers hands-on involvement with next-generation aerospace autonomy technology, including Hivemind autonomy software, V-BAT and X-BAT aircraft platforms, and Aechelon simulation technologies.
