Komodo Health is seeking a Staff Consultant, Research to join its Evidence Intelligence team. This role combines rigorous health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) with real-world healthcare data analysis, leveraging AI and emerging methodologies to generate insights for leading life sciences, provider, and payer organizations. You will lead end-to-end client-facing research engagements, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for key stakeholders. Responsibilities include designing and executing research studies using real-world healthcare data, applying both traditional statistical methods and AI-enabled techniques. You will lead client conversations, present findings, navigate questions in real time, and adjust analysis based on feedback. A core part of the role involves distilling complex datasets into clear, actionable insights communicated through reports, presentations, and dialogue tailored to both technical and executive audiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, data science, clinical, sales) to integrate research insights into product development and strategy. The role includes enablement and specialist support for Marmot, Komodo's AI platform, helping clients and internal teams adopt and extract value from AI-native workflows. You will evaluate and pilot new AI tools to improve research speed, quality, and client responsiveness, staying current on emerging methodologies and technologies. Over your first 12 months, you will lead multiple client engagements from scoping through delivery, build and maintain strong consultative relationships, develop innovative methodologies incorporating AI/ML and generative AI, establish yourself as a subject matter expert in specific therapeutic areas or healthcare domains, and serve as a go-to specialist for Marmot and AI-native workflows. Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a quantitative field (epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics) or equivalent practical experience, minimum 5 years of healthcare research or analytics experience (preferably client-facing consulting or industry), demonstrated client relationship management skills, and experience conducting end-to-end RWE/HEOR studies from design through dissemination using descriptive and sophisticated causal inference methods.
