Preply is a unicorn edtech platform (Series D, $150M) connecting 100,000+ tutors teaching 90+ languages to learners across 180 countries. This Senior Data Analyst role sits within the B2B domain and Preply's Data Chapter, reporting to leadership and partnering with directors, operations leaders, and cross-functional teams across finance and product.
You will own the analytical framework that leadership uses to evaluate B2B trade-offs and define long-term measurement strategies focused on structural growth levers. Key responsibilities include: leading retention and cohort analyses to inform pricing, product, and lifecycle decisions; owning impact modeling and scenario analysis for major B2B initiatives that feed into quarterly and annual planning; establishing metric definitions and governance for B2B, resolving conflicting definitions across teams; designing the experimentation and analytics agenda, determining what gets tested and how success is measured; and partnering with Directors and VPs to shape B2B strategy while mentoring senior analysts.
You should have a track record of driving specific business decisions through analysis (pricing changes, resourcing calls, roadmap decisions), owning metrics or frameworks that other teams depend on, and resolving cross-team conflicts over definitions. You must be fluent and independent in SQL and Python, with deep understanding of subscription or marketplace economics—able to build LTV and cohort models from scratch. You've demonstrated judgment in pushing back on stakeholder requests when they aren't the right questions, and you've built forecasts or scenario models that executives used to defend strategic bets.
Nice-to-have experience includes B2B SaaS or enterprise/account-based business models, building or scaling analytics functions, Tableau/Looker/Power BI, and advanced quantitative degrees.
