iCapital is seeking an Investment Strategy Associate to join their research team and contribute to investment research across global public and private markets, alternative investments, disruptive technologies, and thematic investing. This role sits at the intersection of macro trends, portfolio strategy, private markets, and innovation within a fast-growing fintech platform. Key responsibilities include conducting macroeconomic, sector, thematic, and cross-asset research across equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities, private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and hedge fund strategies. You will track policy developments, capital flows, fundraising activity, valuations, and secular themes such as artificial intelligence, energy transition, demographic shifts, and deglobalization to identify investment opportunities and market signals. The role involves researching, drafting, and supporting production of market commentary, quarterly outlooks, thematic reports, white papers, executive presentations, and thought leadership content for internal and client-facing audiences. You will build and maintain financial models, quantitative analyses, and investment dashboards using Excel, Bloomberg, Python, and other analytical tools. The position leverages data analytics, AI-enabled research tools, alternative data sources, and large market datasets to generate investment insights and improve research processes. You will partner with investment teams and senior leadership to frame research questions, synthesize complex information, and deliver executive-ready insights under tight timelines. The role also involves establishing scalable and repeatable research processes while maintaining a comprehensive knowledge base of market, thematic, and private markets intelligence. Required qualifications include 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private markets, alternatives, asset management, investment research, or investment strategy. You should have demonstrated research experience across public or private markets with strong interest in alternative investments and portfolio construction. Strong understanding of private markets (private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds) is essential, along with experience in data analytics, quantitative research, and financial modeling. Working knowledge of Python for financial analysis, data visualization, and automation is required. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with AI-powered research tools, machine learning concepts, and platforms like PitchBook, Preqin, Macrobond, FactSet, or Bloomberg. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work under tight deadlines, and passion for global markets and emerging technologies are important.
