CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Communication Systems Engineer to join their team developing advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. This is a hands-on technical role in a dynamic startup environment focused on pioneering phased array technology for aerospace applications.
In this position, you will serve as a technical point of contact for communication programs, leading systems engineering efforts across the organization. Key responsibilities include developing space architecture concepts, designing sub-systems and payloads, developing and decomposing requirements, designing high-level software and hardware system architectures, developing concepts of operations (CONOPS), and conducting risk assessments.
You will coordinate activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams, identify and escalate program-level issues, and drive complex aerospace programs to successful completion. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in systems engineering with direct experience in space technology development. You should be comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional startup environment where you can take ownership of technical challenges and contribute to cutting-edge satellite and aerospace communication solutions.
This role requires U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status due to space technology export regulations (ITAR compliance).
