Medici Brands, parent company of David, Epogee, HallPass, and emerging CPG brands, is seeking a Staff Accountant focused on Inventory. The company is led by Peter Rahal, Co-founder and former CEO of RXBAR, and is building brands that break the tradeoff between taste and nutrition. You will report to the Inventory Accounting Manager within the Finance function and own day-to-day inventory and COGS accounting, reconciliations, and cycle counts. This is a hands-on role where you'll grow your technical skills while supporting the monthly close and working closely with Supply Chain partners to maintain clean inventory data. Key responsibilities include: **Financial Reporting & Month-End Close:** Prepare reconciliations and variance analyses for inventory and COGS as part of monthly close. Follow documented close procedures and identify opportunities to strengthen them as you learn the process. **Inventory, COGS & Supply Chain Accounting:** Support day-to-day inventory accounting across raw materials and finished goods. Coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Fulfillment teams to ensure co-manufacturing, freight, warehousing, and fulfillment costs are recorded accurately. Support inventory valuation and COGS accounting in NetSuite using average costing, including landed cost capitalization and variance analysis. Maintain inventory integrity across internal systems and external partners (co-manufacturers and 3PLs) through reconciliations and discrepancy resolution. Participate in and help coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle count programs. **Internal Controls & Systems:** Follow inventory accounting policies, procedures, and controls. Build proficiency in NetSuite's inventory and costing workflows and surface process or system friction. Prepare inventory-related schedules for audits and respond to auditor and advisor requests. **Cross-Functional Partnership:** Translate inventory data into clear summaries for the Inventory Accounting Manager and cross-functional partners. Flag risks, trends, or anomalies in inventory levels, shrink, or cost inflation. Support strategic initiatives—new channel launches, pricing changes, new co-manufacturers or 3PLs, system enhancements—with data pulls and analysis. This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City with five days per week onsite. **Requirements:** - Foundational understanding of US GAAP, with growing exposure to inventory and COGS accounting - Comfort working in an ERP system; hands-on NetSuite experience is a plus but not required—you will build deep NetSuite fluency in this role - Interest in or early exposure to inventory accounting in a CPG, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy environment (co-manufacturers and/or 3PLs) is a plus - 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles; exposure to a high-growth or CPG environment is a plus but not required - High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability - Self-starter who is eager to learn, build good habits early, and operate in a fast-paced environment - Clear communicator, comfortable asking questions and flagging issues early - Excitement about helping build an early-stage CPG company
