Salary: USD 63,000 - 90,000 / annual

SmithRx is a venture-backed healthtech company disrupting the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) sector with a next-generation drug acquisition platform. The company has onboarded hundreds of thousands of members since 2016 and is focused on transforming the U.S. healthcare system through innovative technology and cost-saving solutions. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting and serve as an operational owner of day-to-day accounting functions. This is a hands-on role requiring ownership of multiple critical areas: **Key Responsibilities:** - Prepare indirect tax filings accurately and timely - Coordinate with the company's filing agent to ensure state reports are filed accurately and on schedule - Own the member reimbursement process, including processing physical checks, performing month-end reconciliations of outstanding check lists, and managing the company's escheatment process - Clear daily cash transactions and prepare comprehensive month-end cash account reconciliations - Manage corporate credit card activity by coding and booking expenses accurately and performing month-end card reconciliations The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to drive core accounting workflows to execution in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - 1–3 years of hands-on corporate accounting or operational accounting experience - Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (US GAAP) and general ledger operations - Demonstrated proficiency with cash reconciliations, expense processing, and multi-state/corporate compliance tasks - Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet key monthly deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication skills with a track record of effective collaboration across internal teams and third-party vendor partners - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and experience with or ability to quickly learn modern accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct)
