Salary: USD 64,397 - 80,496 / annual
Rent the Runway is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day operations of its growing Accounting team, reporting to the Accounting Manager. You'll play a key role in month-end close processes for a fast-paced, high-energy company that has disrupted the $2.4 trillion fashion industry with its circular fashion platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support month-end close by preparing journal entries and accruals for expense and balance sheet accounts
- Maintain weekly and monthly reconciliation schedules for balance sheet accounts
- Investigate and communicate reporting discrepancies and anomalies
- Review invoices, expense reports, and capital expenditures to ensure proper coding and accounting treatment
- Liaise with business partners on accrual accounting
- Assist in preparing support for year-end financial statement audits and statutory audits
- Support planning and budgeting teams by compiling ad-hoc reports and schedules
- Execute special projects as assigned
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or private industry)
- CPA license
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starter capable of independent and team-based work
- Exceptional Excel skills with ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- ERP system experience preferred
