Adyen is seeking a Regional Financial Controller to join its Group Finance team in Amsterdam. This role offers a unique opportunity to redesign financial processes from the ground up, moving beyond routine data production to leverage automation and modern tooling for continuous, low-touch close operations while maintaining strong control environments.
You will oversee the general ledger for various global entities and branches, managing complexities ranging from moderate to high. Key responsibilities include executing and validating month-end close workflows, reviewing reconciliations for fixed assets, prepayments, and accruals, and managing routine journal entries. You'll collaborate closely with Adyen's regulatory teams to ensure accurate reporting and strict compliance with all timelines.
Partnership with tax teams is essential—you'll support filings and provisioning by coordinating with external advisors and consolidating required financial data. You'll draft financial statements, interface with auditors to ensure seamless audit cycles, and proactively resolve technical queries. The role also involves addressing ad-hoc reporting requirements from stakeholders across the organization.
A significant part of your mandate is continuous upskilling of GL accountants and other Controllers on core processes to build shared understanding of end-to-end workflows. You'll partner with FinOps and Financial Data Teams to optimize accounting processes, leveraging automation tools such as Workday Accounting Center and Workiva.
Adyen is an office-first company valuing in-person collaboration. The role is based in Amsterdam with no remote-only options. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a high-growth fintech platform serving major clients like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft.
