Pivotal Health is a technology platform helping healthcare providers navigate complex reimbursement landscapes and dispute underpaid claims through an AI-driven solution. The company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the growing Accounting team and manage accounts payable and payroll operations.
In this role, you will own end-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice review and coding for accuracy. You'll process payroll each cycle using Rippling, ensuring accuracy across pay runs and partnering with the platform on tax and compliance filings. You'll manage the company credit card program and employee reimbursements through Ramp, support benefit plan administration as the company transitions off its PEO, and assist with month-end close and cash management activities.
Key responsibilities include partnering with People Ops on payroll-related questions, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and ensuring a smooth transition as payroll and benefits move fully in-house. This is not a payroll-only role—the ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation with hands-on experience in both AP and payroll, comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments.
You should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 5+ years of combined AP and payroll experience. 3–5+ years processing both AP and payroll across different environments is required. Experience with Rippling is strongly preferred (Workday or comparable platforms acceptable), as is experience with Ramp (Brex or Bill.com acceptable). You'll need solid understanding of AP coding and core accounting fundamentals, plus comfort working in a startup-like environment. Extra credit for direct Rippling or Ramp experience, PEO transition experience, startup background, or month-end close process support.
