Tensordyne is a well-funded AI infrastructure startup designing high-performance, low-power AI inference ASICs. The company has headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA and Munich, Germany, with a distributed team. As a Senior Staff ASIC Design Engineer, you will lead the microarchitecture and design implementation of next-generation AI ASICs that integrate novel computational accelerator units, compute fabric, interconnects, networking, and third-party IP blocks optimized for inference workloads. Key responsibilities include: - Authoring microarchitecture specifications and leading specification and test plan reviews - Architecting and implementing complex RTL designs in Verilog/SystemVerilog for multi-million gate ASICs - Scoping third-party IP requirements and managing vendor relationships - Integrating CPU and other IPs into the SoC subsystem - Collaborating with physical design teams to resolve implementation, timing, and power optimization challenges - Analyzing code coverage and guiding the verification team toward coverage closure - Performing diagnostic and post-silicon validation tests, and supporting software bring-up in the lab Required qualifications: - 10+ years of ASIC design experience with proven track record in RTL logic design for large-scale ASICs - Deep experience in IP integration, particularly CPU IP into SoC architectures - Strong knowledge of ARM/RISC-V/MIPS architectures, memory hierarchy, cache coherency, virtual memory, and multicore CPU operation - Familiarity with AMBA/APB/AXI protocols and processor peripheral interfaces (SPI, eMMC, MII, GPIO, I2C) - Hands-on proficiency across the full ASIC development process and front-end tools/methodologies - Experience with low-power design and UPF flows for multi-domain power management - B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (M.S. preferred) - Interest in exploring AI architectures for convolution, transformer, and other workloads - Self-starter mentality suited to dynamic startup environments Preferred: Experience with timing closure at high frequencies.
