As a Senior Network Automation Engineer, you will be a domain owner within the Platform Reliability Engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving Netskope's highly resilient global network infrastructure. This infrastructure consists of hundreds of Points of Presence across major regions, hundreds of BGP sessions with internet exchanges and peering partners, and a multi-vendor stack (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, F5, Palo Alto) delivering 99.999% availability with guaranteed low-latency performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers and switches in a multi-vendor environment (Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Juniper Junos, Arista EOS)
- Manage hundreds of BGP peering sessions with transit providers and internet exchanges; optimize route policy, path selection, and prefix filtering
- Install and configure new ISP transit links; manage circuit turn-up, capacity monitoring, and provider coordination globally
- Configure and maintain firewalls including rulesets, NAT policies, zone-based security, and periodic policy audits
- Configure and manage load balancers including GTM/GSLB components, virtual servers, health monitors, and SSL offload for multi-region traffic management
- Monitor network health continuously through dashboards and utilization trends; identify and resolve degradation patterns proactively
- Execute software upgrades on production routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers with minimal disruption and documented rollback procedures
- Configure and maintain IPsec and other VPN technologies
This is a high-ownership role for an engineer who cares deeply about uptime and network health. You will own day-to-day operations end-to-end while proactively identifying and resolving risks before they impact customers. The role requires expertise in network operations, infrastructure automation, and the ability to manage complex, mission-critical systems at global scale.
