Prefect is hiring a Senior Manager, Strategic Expansion and Customer Success to drive expansion within strategic customer accounts and lead the Customer Success team. You'll own expansion strategy and commercial outcomes for a focused book of high-value accounts, closing complex multi-threaded deals while building and scaling repeatable expansion plays. The role is critical as Prefect transitions from seat-based to consumption-based pricing, requiring deeper customer engagement and proactive identification of expansion opportunities. You'll be a player-coach: directly involved in high-stakes expansion conversations while building systems that elevate your CSM team's commercial rigor and capability. Key responsibilities include: driving expansion in top strategic accounts through multi-threading and executive relationship building; leading and developing the CSM team as direct reports with coaching on commercial behavior and career growth; building the strategic expansion playbook (account planning templates, qualification frameworks, joint reviews); partnering across Sales, Product, and PSL on land-and-expand handoffs and consumption pricing rollout; maintaining accurate expansion ARR forecasting with weekly account reviews and quarterly planning; and translating field signals into actionable insights for Product, Marketing, and leadership. You'll report to the VP, Strategy & Operations and work closely with the AE team, Product leadership, and Professional Services on the pricing transition. Required: 7+ years in strategic account management, expansion sales, or similar roles at developer tool, data infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS companies with consistent quota attainment. Proven success closing complex, multi-threaded expansion deals ($100K+ ACV) in enterprise accounts. 2+ years people leadership experience with direct-report management or high-context team leadership. Comfort with consumption/usage-based pricing models. Track record building structure (playbooks, templates, operating rhythms, frameworks). High EQ, strong collaboration, ability to navigate technical and executive audiences. Startup-ready mindset thriving in low-process, high-ambiguity environments.
