Snowflake is seeking a Senior Manager of Solution Engineering to lead a team of Solution Engineers serving the SLED (State, Local, Education) business in the Central Region. This is a people-management role combining team leadership with direct customer engagement.
Key responsibilities include building and leading a skilled team of solution engineers who serve as product introduction, evaluation, and education experts for enterprise customers. You will partner closely with sales leadership to achieve regional quota targets, work with revenue leaders on go-to-market strategy, and actively manage the sales cycle alongside channel partners. The role requires interpreting complex customer problems, creating solutions, and delivering compelling demonstrations, labs, and proof-of-concept engagements.
You will escalate customer feedback and product gaps to executive leadership, collaborate across product, engineering, sales, marketing, and services teams, and take an active role in recruiting and screening candidates. As a player-coach, you'll deliver presentations to customers and prospects while developing your team's capabilities.
Required qualifications: 10+ years in pre-sales or engineering roles with 2+ years of direct front-line management experience (hiring, training, retention). Strong expertise in data warehousing, data engineering, data science, business intelligence, data analytics, or cloud computing. Outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences. Ability to connect customer business problems to Snowflake solutions. University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent experience preferred. Snowflake experience strongly preferred.
