KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings, is seeking a Senior Director of Media Planning and Buying to lead the company's multi-market media strategy across offline and digital channels. This strategic role will shape how KAYAK invests in media to drive audience growth and business outcomes.
You will own the full media planning and buying lifecycle, including annual and quarterly planning cycles, budget allocation, forecasting, pacing, optimization, and performance reviews. You'll develop integrated media plans spanning TV and video, out-of-home, radio, paid social, display, programmatic, search and other channels, balancing brand impact, audience growth, efficiency and measurable ROI.
Key responsibilities include establishing measurement frameworks and feedback loops to evaluate reach, effectiveness, incrementality, efficiency and return on investment. You'll partner with Analytics and external measurement providers on attribution, incrementality testing and media mix modeling. You'll use campaign performance data, consumer insights, competitive intelligence and market trends to develop clear investment recommendations.
You will manage strategic relationships with media agencies, publishers, broadcasters, technology partners and vendors. Collaboration with Creative, Brand, Finance, Product, Growth and Commercial teams is essential to align media investment with business priorities and communicate trade-offs clearly.
This role includes leading and developing media professionals while building strong working practices across distributed, cross-functional teams. You'll need 10+ years of progressive media planning and buying experience with responsibility for multi-market campaigns and substantial budgets. Expertise across offline and digital media channels is required, along with strong knowledge of marketing measurement, KPI development, incrementality testing, attribution, and media mix modeling. Advanced Excel skills and experience with SQL, Tableau or Looker is valuable. You must have a proven track record of hiring, managing and developing high-performing teams, and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
