Salary: USD 145,000 - 180,000 / annual
OpenGov is seeking a Senior Customer Success Manager to lead enterprise customer relationships and drive retention, expansion, and digital transformation across a portfolio of ~20 high-value government accounts. You will own net retention, renewals, and product adoption for complex public sector customers including cities, counties, state agencies, school districts, and special districts.
Key responsibilities include: managing a portfolio of enterprise accounts with accountability for retention and expansion targets; developing and executing comprehensive customer success plans aligned to customer goals; proactively engaging senior stakeholders (Finance Directors, City Managers, Council Members) to align OpenGov's ERP and specialized products (asset management, procurement, accounting, billing, permitting) with strategic initiatives; serving as a bridge between customers and Product/Field leadership to drive product improvements and resolve escalations; maintaining high customer satisfaction through rapid issue resolution; traveling to engage customers in person and lead regional user groups; and mentoring junior CSMs on OpenGov's sales methodology and product expertise.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of account management, customer success, or sales experience in complex technology, finance, or accounting SaaS environments; proven track record of exceeding quarterly retention and revenue goals; outstanding executive communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; ability to rapidly master OpenGov's product verticals and government sector dynamics; proficiency in Salesforce, G-Suite, and modern CS platforms; ability to translate technical features into business outcomes; Bachelor's degree; willingness to travel as required.
Preferred: Sales training methodologies (MEDDIC, Challenger) or graduate degree.
