Alkira is seeking a Solutions Engineer for the APAC region to lead the technical side of pre-sales engagements. You'll be the technical authority in customer conversations with network architects and infrastructure directors, owning deals from initial discovery through proof-of-concept to close. You'll work alongside an experienced Sales Engineering team, with senior SEs supporting you on complex opportunities.
In this role, you'll present and demo the Alkira platform to technical decision-makers, articulate the value proposition within the networking and cloud connectivity market, and partner with Account Managers to understand customer requirements and respond to RFPs/RFIs. You'll scope, run, and win POCs end-to-end, assist with design and deployment based on best practices, and provide critical feedback to the Product Management team on upcoming features and customer requests.
You'll contribute to the broader SE team by reviewing designs, sharing field insights, and building reusable sales materials. The role includes approximately 25% travel within the APAC region.
Required qualifications include 4+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales engineering role (Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Solutions Architect) at a networking/security vendor, cloud provider, or consultancy. You must have strong networking fundamentals, hands-on knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, static routing), and experience with network virtualization, SD-WAN, IPsec VPNs, and enterprise cloud connectivity. You should be comfortable troubleshooting across routing, security, and cloud domains, and have excellent communication skills for presenting to customers.
Strongly preferred: cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security background (firewalls, Zero Trust), relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer), infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform), and a technical degree.
