Matter Labs builds cryptographic infrastructure for global finance, creating zero-knowledge rollup technology. The company's flagship product, Prividium, is an Ethereum-secured blockchain platform designed for banks and financial institutions requiring privacy, compliance, and data control. Prividium is already in production with Deutsche Bank's Project DAMA 2 and underpins Cari Network, a tokenized-deposit network developed with five US regional banks. As Solutions Engineer, Institutional, you will be the technical partner to Matter Labs' institutional sales team, owning the technical side of the emerging sales motion. You will translate customer requirements into credible Prividium architectures and shepherd opportunities from discovery through evaluation into deployment plans customers trust. Key responsibilities include: leading technical discovery to map customer architecture, data privacy, identity, permissions, interoperability, performance, resilience, custody, and compliance constraints; designing solutions by translating customer workflows into target Prividium architectures with clear integration boundaries, APIs, and deployment models; delivering tailored demos and technical workshops for audiences ranging from engineering teams to senior business leaders; running evaluations by defining success criteria, scoping proofs of concept, coordinating internal specialists, and keeping pilots tied to commercial decisions; owning technical diligence including RFP/RFI responses and security reviews with support from Engineering, Security, Product, and Legal; preparing implementation documentation with explicit assumptions, dependencies, owners, and acceptance criteria; and feeding the product roadmap with structured customer evidence to distinguish repeatable market needs from one-off requests. Over time, the reference architectures and playbooks you build become the foundation of the solutions-engineering function. Required qualifications: 7+ years in solutions engineering, sales engineering, enterprise architecture, or technical consulting in customer-facing settings; experience working with banks, capital-markets firms, market infrastructure, payments businesses, or other regulated institutions; deep grounding in APIs, distributed systems, cloud and on-premise deployment, security, identity and access, and data privacy; demonstrated ability leading complex technical evaluations or proofs of concept and converting them into production decisions; strong communication skills explaining complex systems to technical and non-technical audiences with precise writing and disciplined expectation management; and ability to align sales, product, engineering, security, and customer teams without formal authority. Nice-to-have: working knowledge of Ethereum, smart contracts, tokenization, or zero-knowledge proofs. Deep enterprise and financial-services experience can compensate for lighter crypto background. Compensation includes competitive base salary, performance-based variable compensation, and long-term token incentive (both paid in ZK tokens). New-hire token grants vest over four years with a one-year cliff. The company operates with a freedom and ownership culture emphasizing results over time tracking or bureaucracy.
