Traversal is an AI Site Reliability Engineer (AI SRE) platform for enterprises, autonomously diagnosing, fixing, and preventing production incidents across complex environments. The company was founded by researchers from MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Columbia, and Cornell, alongside operators from Google, Meta, Datadog, ServiceNow, and Citadel Securities. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and other top-tier investors, Traversal operates in mission-critical environments at some of the world's largest enterprises.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will be a foundational, customer-facing role at the intersection of technical depth and relationship building. You'll help define how Traversal engages with prospective customers, guiding them from initial technical discovery through successful deployment. Your responsibilities include driving technical discovery and demo conversations with engineering teams, translating complex infrastructure problems into tailored pilot evaluations, and building demo environments and technical guides to support the sales process.
You'll partner closely with product and engineering teams to scope integrations, relay customer feedback, and influence roadmap priorities. You'll support onboarding and implementation for new customers, ensuring early wins and long-term adoption. You'll also stay current on observability trends, SRE workflows, and the broader AI infrastructure ecosystem.
The role requires 3+ years in Solutions Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, or Solutions Architecture, with strong technical background in backend systems, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, or observability platforms. You need excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, experience building POCs and leading demos, and proven ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles including security, legal, and procurement considerations. Project management skills and comfort in fast-paced startup environments are essential. Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with SRE workflows, infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, technical enablement content creation, and interest in AI infrastructure and agentic systems.
