OP Labs is seeking a Strategic Accounts Lead to own a portfolio of Optimism's most strategic blockchain partners. Optimism is an open-source Layer 2 blockchain network powering the next generation of financial infrastructure, with over 65% of Layer 2 activity on Ethereum running through the OP stack. The company has raised $178M from a16z, Paradigm, and others.
In this role, you will serve as the single-threaded owner for strategic partner relationships, accountable for revenue, execution, and measurable outcomes. You will own the full lifecycle of each account—from onboarding and chain deployment through ongoing performance management, upsell, and renewal. You'll run Optimism's account management framework, including Joint Business Plans, KPI tracking, and structured cross-company operating models with quarterly business reviews and CEO-to-CEO touchpoints.
Key responsibilities include acting as a trusted advisor to partners building out comprehensive blockchain ecosystems, coordinating deeply across Product, Engineering, Legal, Data, and GTM teams to scope work and resolve blockers, and identifying risk and opportunity signals early—including churn risk, underperforming initiatives, and expansion opportunities.
You should bring enterprise account ownership experience with a revenue number, comfort selling capabilities ahead of general availability while managing expectations, and strong understanding of the blockchain and Web3 landscape (L1s/L2s, infrastructure, developer ecosystems). You'll need technical fluency to work effectively with product and engineering teams, proven ability to structure and manage complex commercial relationships and negotiations, strong operational discipline, and high ownership mindset with comfort in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
