Verkada is seeking a Solutions Engineer based in Auckland, New Zealand to support the sales organization in expanding the company's footprint into enterprise customers. The role is currently fully remote but will transition to hybrid once an Auckland office is established.
You will serve as the trusted technical advisor to key customer stakeholders including CTOs, CISOs, IT Executives, Security Engineers, Network Engineers, and Heads of Physical Security. Your responsibilities include analyzing customer business and technical requirements, designing system solutions using Verkada's integrated platform (video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, visitor management), leading product demonstrations, and overcoming technical objections during the sales process.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner directly with Account Executives to qualify opportunities and translate business needs into technical specifications
- Deliver engaging presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Act as the Verkada technical subject matter expert, collaborating with Product, Support, Marketing, and Enablement teams
- Provide technical assistance to territory account representatives
- Approximately 25% travel may be required
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related Engineering field
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and L2 networking devices
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation abilities
- Excellent account management, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Experience with Cloud Security, IoT Systems, Linux systems, and Security Surveillance/Access Control
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with IT infrastructure, Linux operating systems, APIs, Python, and other coding languages
- Industry certifications (Network+, Security+, CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect)
- Must be independently authorized to work in New Zealand; visa sponsorship not available
