Salary: USD 135,000 - 220,000 / annual
Baselayer is an AI Risk Platform that automates merchant onboarding, underwriting, and fraud prevention for over 20% of US financial institutions. The company combines government data, AI agents, and application networks to prevent billions in merchant fraud and credit risk.
As a Solutions Engineer, you'll be a technical bridge between customers and Baselayer's engineering team. Your primary responsibilities include:
• Conduct technical consultations to understand customer requirements and design implementation strategies for identity verification solutions
• Guide customers through API integrations and ensure successful product deployment
• Create technical documentation, implementation plans, and solution architectures tailored to specific customer needs
• Deliver technical product demonstrations showcasing Baselayer's capabilities
• Develop implementation guides and educate customers on APIs and products
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, and engineering teams
• Collect customer feedback and communicate insights back to product and engineering
• Provide post-implementation support and technical guidance
• Stay current with industry trends in identity verification and fintech compliance
You'll work in a small, close-knit team where ownership is real and customer impact is immediate. The role requires translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences while maintaining the ability to dive into code when needed.
Minimum qualifications: 2+ years in a technical role, product management, or customer-facing position; fundamental API and web technology knowledge; strong documentation and problem-solving skills; comfort with ambiguity and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred: Solutions engineering or technical customer success experience; Python or JavaScript coding skills; familiarity with KYC/KYB processes or financial compliance; fintech background; experience leading technical discovery calls or implementation workshops.
