AppDirect, a subscription commerce platform powering millions of subscriptions worldwide, is seeking a Solutions Engineer to drive technical wins within the enterprise prospect base. You will partner with Account Executives as the technical owner of deals, qualifying fit early and driving technical evaluations to help the team hit quarterly revenue goals.
Your responsibilities include leading technical discovery to map current-state IT operations, device lifecycle management, MDM, identity systems, procurement, and remote-work infrastructure. You'll uncover success criteria, constraints, integration requirements, security/compliance needs, and potential blockers. You will support MEDDIC methodology on the technical side, covering metrics and ROI, identifying technical champions, clarifying decision criteria and processes, and understanding customer pain points.
You'll deliver both standard and customized value-based demos to mixed audiences ranging from IT operators to C-level executives. You'll differentiate Firstbase (AppDirect's subsidiary focused on employee equipment and perks) against status quo and competitors, handling technical objections, security questionnaires, RFPs/RFIs, and architecture reviews. Building business cases and value propositions for sales teams to use with economic buyers is a key part of the role.
Configuration and troubleshooting of integrations and automation (APIs, identity systems, ITSM, MDM, workflow tools) will be required, with clean handoffs to implementation and Customer Success teams. You'll feed Voice of Customer insights and competitive intelligence to Product and Engineering to shape the product roadmap. Enabling Sales, Partners, and Marketing with product knowledge, demo environments, objection handling, and reusable technical assets rounds out the scope.
Required qualifications: BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience; 3+ years in Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, or customer-facing technical roles; experience with structured sales methodologies (MEDDIC, Value Selling); strong IT or software background with end-user computing knowledge (laptop configuration, MDM, imaging, compliance, Apple/Windows device management); experience with integrations, APIs, and automation; practical AI fluency; direct work with enterprise B2B SaaS buyers; strong written and verbal communication; comfort with distributed teams across US and Europe.
