Cresta is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer, AI Agent to serve as the dedicated expert on AI Agent technology within the pre-sales organization. This is a specialist individual contributor role—not a management position—where you will be a force multiplier for the Core Solutions Engineering team, engaging early in the sales cycle to drive and support AI Agent opportunities.
You will own the AI Agent technical narrative end-to-end: from workshop facilitation and use case design through high-stakes demos and API discovery. Key responsibilities include serving as the go-to internal and external expert on Cresta's AI Agent capabilities, designing and facilitating technical discovery workshops with prospective customers, leading deep-dive sessions to surface and refine AI Agent use cases, and supporting the most complex AI Agent demonstrations. You will evaluate integration requirements and API feasibility, partner with Sales Directors to build financial ROI models, and collaborate closely with Forward Deployed teams to ensure smooth handoffs from pre-sale to deployment.
You will also close the product feedback loop by synthesizing patterns from AI Agent opportunities and providing structured feedback to Product and Engineering, and elevate the broader SE team's AI Agent fluency through enablement, playbooks, and coaching.
Required qualifications include 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles with 1–3 years in enterprise pre-sales, hands-on experience designing, building, or selling AI Agents or agentic AI systems, practical understanding of APIs and integration patterns, and experience with conversational AI or contact center platforms. You should be able to translate complex AI concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitate workshops effectively, and present confidently to C-suite audiences. Strong organizational skills, resourcefulness in navigating ambiguity, and the ability to drive complex technical conversations to clear outcomes are essential. Python prototyping ability and Salesforce familiarity are valued.
