AZX is a fast-growing, profitable AI company specializing in physics-informed machine learning and enterprise AI solutions for climate and sustainability challenges. The company works with category leaders including CBRE (real estate), LevelTen Energy (energy), Flexe (logistics), and utilities providers. AZX is backed by leading investors focused on AI, climate, and energy. The Solutions Engagement Manager role sits at the intersection of client delivery and engineering. You will embed with clients to deeply understand their desired outcomes, translate those into actionable direction for the engineering team, and act as the technical product manager for your accounts. Key responsibilities include: - Partner directly with clients to understand their desired outcomes and translate that understanding into clear direction for engineering. - Lead engineers and act as technical product manager: define what should be built, why it matters, and how success will be measured. This includes reviewing system architecture, evaluating data pipeline designs, assessing API integrations, and conducting technical requirements analysis. - Push back constructively on unclear or low-value requests; dig into the "why" behind client asks before they become engineering work. - Hold the development team accountable to commitments and quality while working as a partner to engineering (this is not an Engineering Manager role). - Run core project delivery activities: planning, coordination, budget tracking, forecasting, and keeping workstreams honest against deliverables. - Keep the broader strategic picture in mind and understand how projects ladder up to client and company goals. - Use and help refine project management processes, tooling, and automation built by the operations function. The role offers a fully remote culture with a cluster of teammates in Seattle. Travel is required 2x/year for company summits and occasional client visits. Competitive early-stage startup compensation is offered based on capabilities, experience, and location, along with bonus eligibility, health insurance with dependent coverage, flexible paid time off, and equity. **Requirements:** - 2-4+ years of project, program, and/or product management experience leading technology initiatives with mid- to large-size customers. - Hands-on experience working with, deploying, or supporting AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions, with ability to translate between technical users and business stakeholders. - Strong technical literacy: able to engage deeply with engineers on system architecture, APIs, data pipelines, and ML model deployment while maintaining strategic oversight. - Proven track record delivering custom-built software and data solutions (not just SaaS deployments) with measurable business impact. - Domain proficiency/expertise in one or more critical industries: energy, utilities, real estate, logistics, climate, or infrastructure, with understanding of their unique data, regulatory, and operational challenges. - Demonstrated success supporting or managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in environments of ambiguity and rapid change. - Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices. - Tenacious problem solver energized by ambiguous, technical problems. - Bias toward outcomes over tasks. - Growth-oriented learner who actively seeks feedback and adapts quickly. - Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
