As a Solutions Consultant at Xero, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and strategic partner to accounting practice partners. Working alongside the sales team, you will translate complex partner requirements into scalable workflow strategies, identify potential risks early, and help client firms maximize long-term value from the Xero platform.
You will lead technical discovery and solution scoping in partnership with Account Executives, design and deliver custom product demonstrations tailored to specific firm workflow challenges, and guide new practice partners through cloud implementation, workflow mapping, and early adoption. Your role bridges account executives, product engineering, and external partners, sharing market insights internally to shape product features while co-designing technical strategies for client growth.
The team consists of five consultants reporting to a Partner Consulting Manager. You will work in a hybrid model with modern office facilities in Melbourne (or Sydney/Brisbane options) available for collaborative workshops and team connection, with flexible work-from-home options.
Key responsibilities include leading technical discovery sessions, designing engaging product demonstrations, guiding cloud migrations and adoption, and providing expert technical support during sales cycles to overcome operational roadblocks. You will combine deep accounting knowledge with consultative technical expertise to drive active software adoption and transform accountants and bookkeepers into long-term champions.
Required qualifications include solid operational experience within an accounting or bookkeeping practice, proven success in consultative problem-solving or pre-sales technical solution design, strong ability to communicate complex concepts simply, deep familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms and practice workflow software, practical experience with modern productivity technologies including AI tools, and highly developed interpersonal skills to navigate ambiguity and partner effectively across teams.
