OpenAI's Go To Market team is seeking an Account Director to lead enterprise customer relationships and drive revenue growth. This role sits at the intersection of sales, technical strategy, and partnership, focusing on helping digital-native enterprises understand and deploy OpenAI's AI models across their business. You will manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts, owning the entire lifecycle from initial engagement through deployment, expansion, and renewal. You'll develop comprehensive account plans and execute complex deal strategies tailored to each customer's unique needs. Working closely with solutions engineers, research teams, and solution strategists, you'll help customers evolve their industries with AI capabilities. Key responsibilities include: managing revenue targets and forecasts, analyzing account metrics to drive insights, monitoring competitive and industry landscape developments, and collaborating across functions (product, engineering, marketing, finance, operations) to deliver customer success. You'll also support team growth through recruitment, onboarding, and culture development. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of enterprise SaaS/PaaS sales experience, with proven success designing and executing complex deal strategies at high-growth companies. You should be comfortable working directly with C-level executives, translating technical concepts for diverse audiences, and gathering market intelligence to inform strategy. A genuine passion for AI and its potential to benefit humanity is essential. You thrive as a customer-centric strategist who builds trusted advisor relationships, embraces new challenges, and excels at building scalable systems and processes. The role offers hybrid flexibility (3 days/week in office) with options to work from San Francisco, New York, Seattle, or remotely within the US. Relocation assistance is available.
