Snowflake is seeking a Solutions Architect to join Frontier Engineering, the implementation and strategy organization that helps customers optimize and achieve business outcomes on the Snowflake platform. This role bridges technical expertise with consultative selling, serving as the primary technical resource during the pre-sales cycle while maintaining secondary responsibility for strategic customer delivery engagements.
You will lead technical discovery sessions, solution design workshops, and proof-of-concept efforts that validate Snowflake's ability to meet customer requirements and accelerate deal closure. You'll architect delivery-ready solutions, produce technical scoping artifacts (solution architectures, level-of-effort estimates, resource plans, risk assessments), and build trusted-advisor relationships with customer technical stakeholders including Directors, VPs, CTOs, and CDOs.
Key responsibilities include providing technical thought leadership to elevate win rates through competitive positioning and technical objection handling, participating selectively in delivery engagements (typically short-duration architecture validation sprints or executive checkpoints on strategic accounts), contributing to reusable solution patterns and sales enablement content, mentoring Practice Managers on technical positioning, and providing structured feedback to Product Management on customer requirements and competitive gaps.
Required qualifications: 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (pre-sales, post-sales consulting, solution architecture, or technical advisory); demonstrated experience at the intersection of sales and delivery; proven ability designing and presenting enterprise-scale data platform solutions; experience with Japanese business sales cycles; hands-on proficiency with SQL and Python for data analytics, data engineering, or AI/ML; strong understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP; experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, data governance, and modern data architecture; outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills; partner ecosystem experience with Systems Integrators; university degree in computer science, engineering, data science, mathematics, or equivalent; fluency in Japanese and business-level English; ability to travel for customer engagements.
Bonus qualifications include Snowflake or comparable cloud data platform consulting/implementation experience, Snowflake SnowPro certifications, Frontier Engineering organization experience, vertical industry expertise (Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, Media, Manufacturing), AI/ML lifecycle familiarity, data migration and legacy platform modernization experience, and cloud certifications.
