VGS is the world's leader in payment tokenization, trusted by Fortune 500 companies, innovative AI firms, merchants, banks, and fintechs. The company processes over 10 billion monthly interactions and stores 9 billion tokens, touching a third of all e-commerce. VGS provides a universal token vault and credential management platform that helps enterprises manage payment data complexity and move faster.
As a Solutions Architect, you will be a technical expert who bridges customer needs with VGS's platform capabilities. You'll conduct technical discovery with prospects and customers to understand their business goals, payment infrastructure challenges, and security requirements. You'll map complex payment flows across merchants, payment service providers (PSPs), processors, acquirers, card networks, and wallets, then architect solutions using VGS's vaulting, card management, tokenization, Account Updater, 3DS, wallet payments, and data security capabilities.
You'll lead technical strategy for qualified opportunities from discovery through architecture approval and implementation handoff. This includes creating architecture diagrams, proposals, demos, and proofs of concept; leading RFI/RFP responses and security reviews; and collaborating with customer engineers on APIs, webhooks, authentication, data models, and integrations. You'll produce detailed handoffs covering solution architecture, assumptions, responsibilities, testing, success metrics, and out-of-scope items, then provide technical oversight through launch.
You'll also influence the product roadmap by translating customer and market feedback into actionable insights. You'll develop reusable reference architectures, demos, integration patterns, and enablement assets. You'll serve as a payments and technology subject matter expert in workshops, executive briefings, and industry events.
You bring 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture, sales engineering, technical consulting, payment implementation, software engineering, or similar technical customer-facing roles. You have experience with large-scale card or credential migrations, multi-PSP strategies, payment orchestration, processor routing, or payment portability. You have a background at a merchant, PSP, processor, acquirer, issuer, card network, or payment infrastructure company. You understand PCI DSS, data security, privacy, and compliance architecture. You're proficient with web services, APIs, and full-stack development. You can explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, create clear technical diagrams, and structure executive presentations. You can write production-grade code examples in Python, JavaScript, Java, or Ruby. You have strong collaboration, interpersonal, negotiation, and prioritization skills.
