Vercel is seeking a Solutions Architect to join the Field Engineering team, serving as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers throughout their lifecycle. The role spans both pre-sales and post-sales engagement, working with companies building modern web and AI-powered applications on Vercel's platform.
In pre-sales, you will lead technical discovery with Sales, qualify customer use cases, design target architectures for agentic workflows and AI applications, and create tailored demos and technical presentations that articulate Vercel's value proposition. You will own proofs of concept and pilots end-to-end, defining success criteria, guiding implementation, removing technical blockers, and ensuring measurable business outcomes.
Post-sales, you will act as the lead architect for strategic accounts, guiding onboarding, reference implementations, migration patterns, and best practices. You will proactively engage customers on performance optimization using metrics like Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse, coordinate security and compliance reviews, and capture field insights to inform product roadmaps.
You will collaborate with the Field Engineering team to standardize playbooks and reusable assets, contribute to internal enablement and external content (reference architectures, example repos, talks), and participate in industry events and customer on-sites.
Ideal candidates have significant experience in customer-facing technical roles (solutions architect, sales engineer, platform architect) with modern web or cloud platforms. You bring strong hands-on skills with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks like Next.js, understand web performance, caching, networking, and security fundamentals, and are comfortable discussing code with engineering teams. You excel at translating between business outcomes for executives and implementation details for developers, have a track record of owning complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders, and thrive in collaborative environments. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), SaaS and edge platform integration, and experience building AI-powered or agentic applications is highly valued.
