Hevo Data is a fully managed data pipeline platform used by 2000+ customers across 45+ countries (including DoorDash, Footlocker, Santander) to consolidate data from 150+ sources. The company is backed by Sequoia Capital, has raised $42M, and operates from San Francisco, Bangalore, and Pune.
As a Solution Engineer in the post-sales team, you will be the senior technical specialist that Account Managers engage for complex, high-stakes customer conversations. You are not a support agent or first point of contact—you are the technical thought partner for CTOs, data architects, and engineering leads at mid-market and enterprise accounts.
Key responsibilities include: leading technical discovery and solution design for enterprise customers evaluating new use cases or architectural changes; engaging credibly with senior technical stakeholders as a genuine peer; translating complex customer requirements into actionable guidance for both customers and internal engineering teams; building and maintaining deep expertise in the modern data stack (cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks; orchestration; transformation tools like dbt); identifying expansion opportunities through technical engagement; and contributing to internal knowledge by documenting patterns and building reference architectures.
You will work in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment with high autonomy and direct access to leadership. Success is measured on whether enterprise customers trust Hevo at the technical level and whether that trust translates into deeper, longer, larger relationships—not on ticket volume or response SLAs.
Required qualifications: 6+ years in a technical, customer-facing role (Solutions Engineering, Data Engineering, technical post-sale, or consulting); deep knowledge of data engineering (ETL/ELT, cloud data warehouses, orchestration, modern data stack); hands-on experience with data integration tools, CDC, event streaming, or warehouse-native transformation; ability to engage at the architectural level; strong communication skills for both engineers and executives; comfort in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Nice-to-have: prior SE role at a data infrastructure or SaaS company; exposure to enterprise data governance, compliance, or security (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA); startup or high-growth B2B SaaS experience.
