Snowflake is seeking a Solution Engineer for the UK and emerging enterprise financial services market to solve complex customer challenges. In this role, you will partner directly with account sales teams and channel partners to understand customer needs, strategize support during evaluations, and help customers choose Snowflake as their data platform solution.
You will present Snowflake's technology and vision to executives and technical teams at prospects and customers. Working hands-on throughout the sales cycle—from initial demos through proof of concepts to design and implementation—you'll demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology. You'll create and develop technical champions within accounts to drive deals and achieve technical wins.
Key responsibilities include staying at the cutting edge of Snowflake technology, confidently presenting roadmap features to customers and prospects, and maintaining deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies. You'll collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to improve products and marketing, represent Snowflake at industry and customer events, and work with ecosystem and implementation partners on joint architectures and account strategies.
You'll proactively contribute to account and territory planning, collaborate with other sales engineers to continuously improve, and help customers succeed with their data initiatives. The role requires translating technical features into business solutions for conversations with technical teams, business stakeholders, end users, and executives.
Required qualifications include solution engineering or solution architect experience in a SaaS environment or relevant industry experience in analytics, data science, or data engineering. You need outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences, understanding of data architecture and cloud technology, hands-on SQL experience, and the ability to solve customer-specific business problems. Strong customer-facing communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential.
Preferred experience includes banking industry background, Python proficiency, modern data technology (dbt, Spark, containers, DevOps tooling, orchestration tools, Git), and familiarity with AI, data science, and machine learning technologies.
