Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Robotics Tracking and Fusion team in Washington, DC. You will define and influence the direction of a small team, leveraging deep subject-matter expertise in target tracking and state estimation to solve complex, real-world defense challenges.
Key responsibilities include prototyping and deploying state-of-the-art algorithms for tracking, multi-sensor data fusion, and state estimation in agile development environments. You will develop high-performance software for real-time systems spanning tactical implementations, simulation environments, and decision support tools. The role requires designing and implementing robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning systems that extract actionable insights from noisy, ambiguous, or incomplete sensor data.
You will analyze system performance using high-fidelity simulations and rigorous statistical techniques, drive customer success by customizing algorithms for mission-critical use cases, and integrate tracking technologies into the broader software development lifecycle. Strong communication skills are essential to translate technical progress into clear insights for diverse stakeholders.
Required qualifications include proficiency in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB with strong knowledge of target tracking techniques (Kalman filters, particle filters, JPDA, MHT, PHD filters). You need expertise in state estimation, Bayesian filtering, sensor fusion, and recursive estimation. Solid applied mathematics background (linear algebra, optimization, probability, stochastic processes) and signal processing knowledge for radar, lidar, and EO/IR data are essential. Experience with big data pipelines, NoSQL databases, machine learning applied to tracking, and production system optimization is required. U.S. Top Secret security clearance eligibility is mandatory.
