Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 / annual

The Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech engines, and external APIs. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including the public TTS API and internal systems for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking. You'll oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience. Key responsibilities include designing scalable backend systems, enhancing API performance, collaborating on B2B enterprise solutions with customization and integration needs, and working closely with product and frontend teams. The role requires proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node.js (required) and direct experience with Google Cloud Platform. Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers is valuable. Experience with Docker, containerized deployments, and Kubernetes for high-availability applications is preferred.
