M7 Health is an AI-powered workforce operations platform for healthcare, helping health systems forecast demand, auto-balance clinical schedules, and reduce overtime and contract labor costs. As a Software Engineer, Integrations, you will build, scale, and operate the integrations connecting M7 to health systems' core platforms, including time-and-attendance systems (UKG, Symplr) and HRIS platforms (Workday, ADP). These integrations already run in production across M7's hospital base; your role is to harden and extend them as the company grows, and to build new integrations that expand reach.
You will spend your time writing production code, designing pipelines that ingest, transform, and reconcile data from messy source systems, and debugging integration challenges with external platforms. You'll report to the Head of Engineering and work alongside a small team of engineers who own this integration layer together. The integrations you build power M7's core intelligence—forecasting, auto-balancing, and staffing insights all depend on trustworthy data flowing in from every health system served, making correctness and reliability central to the work.
Key responsibilities include enhancing and scaling existing integrations, designing transformation and reconciliation logic that turns heterogeneous source data into a usable model, keeping pipelines resilient as customers and sources grow, contributing to monitoring and alerting, diagnosing data discrepancies to root cause, and partnering with product and activations teams to turn technical requirements into well-scoped systems.
Success in the first six months means shipping fixes and enhancements to existing integrations, becoming a reliable owner of production health, meaningfully contributing to at least one new integration end-to-end, and building working relationships across product and activations teams.
You should have 4+ years building and operating production software with a track record of owning systems end-to-end. You're comfortable with APIs (REST and SOAP), file-based and SFTP feeds, webhook architectures, data schemas, SQL, and the transformation logic that comes with integrating messy external systems. You think in terms of failure modes, observability, and recovery, and you design with production support in mind. You're a clear communicator who can explain technical issues to both product managers and hospital IT analysts. You're comfortable with ambiguity—source systems are undocumented, customer environments differ, and requirements aren't always written down—and you turn that into working systems. You're fluent with AI coding assistants and interested in building AI-assisted tooling into team operations.
Nice-to-haves include direct UKG experience, background at a healthcare SaaS company, experience with the company's stack (TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, AWS), experience building data platforms or pipelines for intelligence or ML features, and venture-backed startup experience.
