Salary: USD 104,400 - 196,364 / annual
Braze is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the SMS and Channels team, responsible for building and scaling SMS and RCS messaging capabilities within the customer engagement platform. The role involves shipping high-value fullstack features quickly, owning key technical areas as a primary owner, and solving open-ended problems while maintaining platform reliability as traffic scales.
You will work on both composition and sending functionality, message responses, analytics, and supporting services including click tracking and link shortening. The team operates with full ownership of these channels within the product, requiring collaboration across engineering, product, and other functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing fullstack features for SMS/RCS channels
- Driving technical initiatives from concept through delivery
- Owning primary technical areas and solving complex distributed systems problems
- Maintaining platform dependability and performance at scale
- Collaborating effectively across teams and communicating clearly with peers and leadership
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Professional experience building distributed systems at scale
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms
- Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Team collaboration experience
